Herbal Remedies For Acne - The Variety

Almost every herb and root has medicinal properties and many of them are also used to treat acne. Herbal remedies for acne can be used both internally as well as externally. Sometimes a combination of both is required to clear the skin effectively.

Herbal remedies for acne need to be delicate for the face. They are not harsh like other creams or gels available in the market for the treatment of acne. These harsh creams and gels remove oil and dirt from the face, but leave it tight and dry. This can lead to more breakouts when the pores close and dirt, oil, and bacteria accumulate in these pores. To combat this problem, there are certain herbal remedies that are gentler for the skin and the face.

By washing your face with lime and milk, blackheads can be treated. In this method, milk should be brought to boil and the juice of one lemon should be added to it. Then you can rub the recipe so prepared on your face after it has cooled. Otherwise, it could burn your face.

The use of an astringent for deep cleansing the pores can be another herbal remedy. In this procedure, a leafy mango can be bought from a nearby grocery shop. This can then be boiled in some water and after it has cooled, it can be rubbed on the face. If the pimples are not severe, the mango can be soaked overnight in water. This is a natural remedy for cleaning the pores.

Raw potatoes can also be used to treat acne. Potatoes prove more beneficial, if the person has whiteheads. The vitamin C contained in raw potatoes, gives the skin a healthy glow. The alkaline property of raw potatoes helps get rid of bacteria on your face. Raw potatoes also contain an acid, which removes the dead cells on your face. Thus, raw potatoes are a very natural remedy for the cure of acne.

There are also several herbal essential oils used for the treatment of acne. For this, lavender oil can be diluted in ten parts of water, witch hazel, or rosewater. This can be applied on the skin as lavender has special properties, which helps reduce the redness, thereby soothing the skin.

The acne affected area can also be rubbed with a clove of garlic. This rapidly clears the skin. Although garlic has an unpleasant odor, it can still be eliminated. This can be done by soaking the clove in milk, half an hour before its application.

Your skin may become parched due to the application of various herbal remedies on it. To reduce the dryness during application of herbal remedies for acne, there are ways to rehydrate the skin. For this, almond oil or jojoba oil may be used.
